HOTEL CHANTELLE, POPULAR NEW YORK CITY RESTAURANT AND NIGHTLIFE CONCEPT, LAUNCHES IN LONDON THIS SUMMER
With Its First International Expansion, Hotel Chantelle Brings Its Inventive and Whimsical Menu, and Fashionable Gardenlike Restaurant to the Heart of London
London, England– July 2015 – New York City’s famed Hotel Chantelle, a multi-level restaurant and late night hot spot located in Manhattan’s Lower East Side, is excited to announce the launch of its new London location. Seasoned restaurateurs and partners Frank Alessio, Kyle O’Brien, Ravi Patel, and Seth Levine (Executive Chef), open Hotel Chantelle London as their first international expansion of the brand. Situated at 23 Orchard Street, just off Oxford Street and adjacent to Selfridges, the restaurant forms a partnership with Joe Fournier’s popular nightclub BonBonniere, in which it will reside above. Executive Chef Seth Levine is poised to elevate the brand as he brings his unique menu of new American and fun French fare to the London outpost opening this July. This dining-meets-nightlife venue will be open for lunch, dinner and late-night dining daily, and will bring its ultra-popular weekend jazz brunches across the pond, which are sure to keep Londoners entertained for years to come.
Executive Chef Seth Levine draws upon his diverse culinary background, whimsical imagination and belief that fine dining should be fun, to bring Hotel Chantelle London a creative menu that marries upscale American dining with fun French fare in a social setting. With signature dinner items such as Waffle-crusted fried chicken topped with maple syrup cotton candy and a Tuna Tartare Cigar served in a vintage glass ashtray, and brunch entrees like Bananas Foster Waffles and Frosted Flake encrusted Stuffed French Toast, guests can expect inventive presentations, unique food pairings and a take on New York inspired classics that will keep them playing with their food throughout each visit. With his business mind and culinary vision, Chef Seth Levine has opened, consulted and curated some of New York’s most celebrated restaurants, and has cultivated a loyal clientele of celebrity fans including Adrian Grenier, Katy Perry, Channing Tatum, Sophia Bush and Liam Hemsworth, among many more.
“Coming from NYC, one of the most critically acclaimed foodie cities, we felt the next best place to showcase the entire Hotel Chantelle brand was London,” says Executive Chef Seth Levine. “I’m always excited to have new people try my food, and opening in London gives me a blank canvas to show off my creations with a new palate,” he adds.
Drawing from the design of Hotel Chantelle’s rooftop in New York, the London restaurant will reflect a similar atmosphere, transporting guests from the bustling West London streets to a Parisian garden oasis. Frosty white glass tiles make up the ceiling of the 2,500 square foot space, resembling a naturally sky lit space much like the retractable roof at its flagship location. Park benches, lamppost lighting and draping floral greeneries encompass the restaurant, giving it a relaxed yet sophisticated vibe perfect for enjoying on any occasion. Yet with a touch of grittiness and culture from Manhattan’s Lower East Side, the London restaurant will feature artwork by Rachid Kallamni, Bradley Theodore, and Meredith Ostrom. With 100 seats, guests can escape to this upstairs terrace retreat whether enjoying brunch with friends, an afternoon tea or dinner with friends on any given night.
Coinciding with the restaurant’s expansion, Hotel Chantelle entered into a unique partnership with Joe Fournier and his popular Faberge-egg inspired nightclub, BonBonniere (opened Nov 2014), above which the restaurant will reside in London. While both brands pursued the opportunity to develop across the pond, each of the hospitality partners “traded spaces” so each location would have complimenting attached spaces (above and below each other). BonBonniere New York opened underneath Hotel Chantelle in January on the Lower East Side, and with the expansion of Hotel Chantelle above BonBonniere in London, the partnership will soon be complete.
“Hotel Chantelle has been a well-received concept in New York since opening, and when this opportunity for the partnership with BonBonniere presented itself, it was perfect timing to expand the brand,” states owner Frank Alessio. “We have a strong international crowd in New York, especially our English clientele, so it’s fitting that London is our first international location,” owner Kyle O’Brien adds. “We are excited to develop the brand even further, and then expand in additional international locations.”
Hotel Chantelle London will be open seven days a week serving lunch and dinner from 11:30AM-11:00PM Monday thru Sunday. Late Night Dining will be available Thursday thru Saturday until 3:00AM, and weekend brunch will be offered on Saturdays and Sundays from 11:00AM-4:00PM.
