With over 20 years of experience in the hospitality industry, Leo Osorio has worked in practically every food and beverage related position – from serving and tending bar to managing and cooking. Born in Colombia and raised in Miami, he is truly a home-grown talent who began his culinary journey in 2006 at TOWN Kitchen and Bar in Coral Gables. There he worked his way up from Server to General Manager. After almost seven years, Osorio moved on to other notable South Florida establishments including Finka Table & Tap and Michael’s Genuine Food & Drink. At the same time, Osorio earned an Associate Degree in Culinary Management from Miami Dade College in 2012 and a Bachelor of Science in Hospitality and Tourism Management in 2014 from Florida International University’s Chaplin School of Hospitality & Tourism Management.
In 2016, Osorio joined Kush Hospitality Group (KHG) where he worked at LoKal and The Spillover serving a variety of roles including chef and manager of operations. Most recently, he made the move to KHG’s newest concept, Stephen’s Delicatessen in Hialeah –Florida’s oldest Jewish-style deli, originally established in 1954. The legendary restaurant reopened in 2019 after a two-year refurbishment. As Executive Chef of this notable landmark, Osorio works with KHG’s Owner/Operator Matthew Kuscher to create a menu that would make Bubbie proud featuring dishes inspired by deli classics with a smidgen of local Latin influences.
