In this role, Riveiro Woolsey will manage Chappellet’s 15-person hospitality team and will report directly to Managing Director David Francke. Chappellet Vineyard Appoints Woolsey as Director
Riveiro Woolsey, who was born in Spain, holds a degree in modern languages from the University of Roehampton, London, and is fluent in English, Spanish and Portuguese, with conversational skills in French and Italian. He also holds an associate degree in wine marketing and sales from Napa Valley College. He began his career as a section manager for the Louis Vuitton Moet Hennessey Group in London, England, before going on to serve as the general manager for the Villa Virginia Hotel in Chile’s Maipo Valley, where he developed a highly successful strategic alliance program with Concha y Toro, and organized luxury wine and culinary tours in the region. Following his passion for wine, Riveiro Woolsey moved to the Napa Valley in 2007, where brought his experience in luxury goods and hospitality to the wine industry as the hospitality manager for Ehlers Estate, the director of retail sales for Luna Vineyard and most recently as direct to consumer manager for all of the PlumpJack Group’s winery operations.
In discussing his new role at Chappellet, Riveiro Woolsey cites his belief in the importance of long-term relationship building and developing unforgettable wine experiences that create a deeper connection with Chappellet’s 50+ year legacy on Pritchard Hill. “Chappellet is an institution,” said Riveiro Woolsey. “As a multigenerational, family-run winery, Chappellet embodies everything I love about wine. The family is passionately committed to the environment and cares deeply about the land they have stewarded for more than half a century. Because the land defines the greatest wines, it is their intimate connection with their famed vineyard on Pritchard Hill that has established Chappellet’s wines as global benchmarks.”
“The future of Chappellet, and wineries like ours, is dependent on building meaningful, enduring relationships with our customers,” said Managing Director David Francke. “This requires having a client-centric culture that cultivates and values these relationships. As with our viticulture and winemaking programs, we are always striving to evolve, improve and raise the bar to new heights. Oscar is a leader, a strategic thinker and a consummate ambassador, with a wealth of experience in luxury goods, hospitality, events and fine wine. When I think about what Oscar will bring to our client services program, I am reminded of a Vince Lombardi quote that Donn Chappellet used to love. ‘Perfection is not attainable, but if we chase perfection we can catch excellence.’”

About Chappellet
In 1967, on the advice of legendary winemaker André Tchelistcheff, the Chappellet family settled on the steep slopes of Pritchard Hill© and founded Chappellet, becoming just the second post-Prohibition winery in Napa Valley. As pioneers of high-elevation vineyard planting, Chappellet has earned acclaim for crafting benchmark wines with an emphasis on mountain-grown Cabernet Sauvignons, while establishing Pritchard Hill as one of the world’s great wine regions. In 2017, Chappellet celebrated its 50th anniversary as a family-owned-and-operated winery, and crafted its debut vintage of the Chappellet Grower Collection, which is dedicated to exploring Chardonnays and Pinot Noirs from Sonoma County.
