After nearly 15 years at the helm of beloved Bucktown eatery HotChocolate and operating HotChocolate Bakery within Revival Food Hall since its opening in 2016, Segal continues to work in collaboration with 16″ on Center hospitality collective on this new fast-casual concept.
“For the past 15 years, burgers and mac and cheese have been our savory specialties at HotChocolate that guests come in for time and time again,” says Segal. “After expanding to open my bakery at Revival a few years ago, I wanted to grow further with a burger concept that has something for everyone. Moving into the fast-casual category has been really fun for me and I’m excited to bring the best-of-the-best from HotChocolate to a new audience in the Loop.”
Joining the lineup of chef-driven grab-and-go dining options from some of Chicago’s most celebrated chef talents and favorite neighborhood spots, Mindy’s Burgers (And A Shake) will offer four burgers created with seasonal, locally sourced ingredients. Each burger will be served with a side of fries and guests can select from additional add-ons including avocado, little gem lettuce, heirloom tomatoes, griddled veggies, cole slaw pickles and fried farm egg. Buns for each burger can be swapped for a lettuce wrap. Burger offerings will include:
* The Original HC Burger featuring a patty of Slagel beef topped with aged cheddar on a toasted sesame seed bun.
* The Turkey Burger made from Slagel turkey and dressed with turkey jus, giardiniera on a pretzel bun.
* The Veggie Burger featuring a house-made patty created with quinoa, farro, mushroom and beet patty topped with taleggio cheese and pickled beets nestled between a toasted hemp seed brioche bun.
* Burger of the Month, each month look out for a new limited-time specialty burger from the team and special guests.
Segal continues to uphold her reputation as one of the city’s premier pastry talents with the creation of two inventive new sweet treats – The Hot Chocolate Affogato, a decadent dessert featuring ½ frozen hot chocolate, ½ hot chocolate hot fudge and whipped cream and The HC Beer Float, made with hot chocolate soft serve topped with stout beer.
