Cakebread Cellars, one of Napa Valley’s premier wineries, appoints Michael W. Thomas as Chief Financial Officer. In this new role, Michael will apply his vast experience to enhance wholesale, retail, production and distribution to continue to grow the established, family-owned winery.

Cakebread Cellars Welcomes Michael W. Thomas as New CFO
Michael joins Cakebread Cellars with years of experience leading financial departments at family-owned wineries including most recently at Foley Family Wines and Rutherford Wine Company. A seasoned financial professional, Thomas previously held senior management roles at several wine and CPG brands including E.J. Gallo, KRAVE Pure Foods, and SMASHMALLOW. Through these roles, Michael strategically led cross-functional teams in sales, marketing, and production, working on new product innovations, budget revamping, SKU rationalization and market strategy.
Thomas earned an MBA with dual concentrations in Finance and Marketing from University of California Davis, Graduate School of Management, and has pursued wine education to complement his business acumen. He holds a Level 4 Diploma in Global Wine & Spirits from the Wine & Spirit Education Trust and is currently pursuing a degree in Enology from Las Positas College School of Viticulture & Enology.
