Cargo Food Authority, a hot new restaurant concept that opened its first location in the lobby of downtown Minneapolis’ Target Center in late 2018, has announced its second outpost directly outside of Wrigley Field at the corner of Addison and Clark in Chicago’s ever popular Wrigleyville neighborhood. Cargo Food Authority anticipates a summer 2019 opening.
Owned and operated by Williston Holding Company, and designed by Chief Development Officer, Brian Ingram, the outpost will be located in the shadows of historic Wrigley Field. Certain to be one of Chicago’s most Instagrammed locations, the multi-sensory restaurant, bar and live entertainment venue features an in-house brewing system, ivy-covered wall, giant TV wall for watching the games, double-decker bus as the main bar, raised stadium seating, unique sports memorabilia, a pitching cage and a selfie scoreboard.
“Cargo Food Authority is a food-hall style restaurant, bar and live entertainment venue that features repurposed shipping containers, retro-fitted as fully operational kitchens, serving really fun food-truck style food, craft beers, and locally-distilled, craft cocktails on draft,” said Ingram. “Each Cargo Food Authority is custom designed to honor the surrounding community, and as a lifelong Chicago Cubs fan, building out this space will be a dream come true.”
Repurposed shipping containers serving as food stalls will feature crave-worthy takes on food truck-style favorites including gourmet grilled cheese sandwiches, ramen and poke bowls, fried chicken, blended burgers, giant pretzels, pizza-stuffed burritos and more.
“Cargo Food Authority is one of our core new business units and certainly one that we see having the ability to thrive in a variety of destination cities throughout the U.S.,” Ingram continued. We couldn’t be more excited to open in Chicago, one of the world’s best cities for food, sports and entertainment.”
“Cargo Food Authority will bring major league fun, food and entertainment to the corner of Addison & Clark,” said John Bucksbaum, CEO of Bucksbaum Retail Properties, a co-owner and co-developer of the Addison & Clark project. “We are excited to welcome Brian Ingram and his all-star team to our project,” added Bucksbaum.
