BrewDog Las Vegas Grand Opening Celebration
On Friday evening, a queue of approximately one thousand guests built up surrounding the all-new BrewDog on the Las Vegas Strip. Scottish bagpipers, an homage to BrewDog’s Scottish roots, welcomed guests along Las Vegas Boulevard and Elvis was also in the building, an homage to BrewDog’s first location in Las Vegas and the brewery’s top-selling beer in the United States, Elvis Juice. Leading up to the $1 million dollar bar tab prize, BrewDog raffled off a variety of prizes, including a $100 bar tab, an epic dinner for four and a stay at BrewDog’s hotel, DogHouse—the world’s first craft beer hotel, located in Columbus, Ohio.
BrewDog Founder and CEO James Watt asked the crowd for a drumroll as he pulled the winning guest number and presented the $1 million dollar bar tab with an oversized check to Jeffrey Appleby of Las Vegas, a once-in-a-lifetime prize. Appleby jumped onto the bar to accept his prize before buying everyone at BrewDog a round of beers as the crowd chanted his name, “Jeff, Jeff, Jeff!” Wheelbarrows of Elvis Juice and other BrewDog favorites were distributed to the crowd, as Appleby spent over $27,000 of his million dollar tab that evening purchasing everyone on-site a round. His winnings may be used at any of the 119 BrewDog locations around the world, including BrewDog hotels, for the next 20 years.
