New FroYo concept aims to change lives, one cup at a time
The FroYo concept committed to changing lives through yogurt is preparing to open its second location this weekend.
Bloop Frozen Yogurt’s second store will open at Candlers Station Shopping Center at 3700 Candlers Mountain Road in Lynchburg, Virginia, this Saturday, February 11 at 11 a.m. The first Bloop location opened on January 14 at 1601 Enterprise Drive in Lynchburg.
The Bloop Mission is simple. In addition to offering innovative frozen yogurt flavors in a fun, family-friendly environment, Bloop’s A Cup 4 A Cup program donates one cup of clean drinking water to a person in need for every cup of yogurt sold in all Bloop stores. The company is working with charity: water to ensure the water and funds raised through FroYo sales at Bloop will get to the people most in need, thus using a first-world treat to help solve a third-world problem.
“Over 30,000 people die from unsafe water and unhygienic living conditions each week—and over 90% of those deaths are children,” Daryl Calfee, co-founder of Bloop, said. “Our mission at Bloop is to help change that by offering a cup of clean drinking water for every cup of yogurt sold. A cup for a cup: it’s that simple.”
charity: water is a non-profit organization bringing clean and safe drinking water to people in developing nations. Additional information is available online at charitywater.org>.
Bloop has two additional stores on tap for early 2012, with locations coming soon to Charlottesville, Virginia and Greensboro, North Carolina.
