The iconic Blantyre, one of New England’s most legendary resorts and a member of Relais & Châteaux, announces the appointments of two key executives: Natalie Ward as General Manager and Jeremy Berlin as Executive Chef.
General Manager Natalie Ward will oversee daily operations of the 110-acre estate and resort, slated to re-open in April following a multimillion-dollar investment in the property’s luxurious accommodations, spa, activities and public spaces. Bringing more than 20 years of experience in the luxury hospitality industry, Ms. Ward is a seasoned hotelier with expertise in the New England region.
Prior to joining Blantyre, she spent four years as General Manager of The Mirbeau Inn & Spa in Plymouth, MA where she oversaw the property’s opening and led the team to achieve and maintain AAA Four Diamond status. Ms. Ward’s previous positions include serving as General Manager at Hidden Pond in Kennebunkport, ME, the Relais & Châteaux Castle Hill Inn and Resort in Newport, RI, and The Winnetu Inn & Resort in Martha’s Vineyard, MA.
Jeremy Berlin, Blantyre’s new Executive Chef, will oversee all culinary operations including the new dining operations: The Conservatory at Blantyre, a fine-dining prix fixe menu; and Blantyre Bistro, a French-inspired menu featuring classic dishes and locally sourced ingredients.
Berlin will also transform the resort’s in-room dining and catering events, ranging in size from high-level meetings to weddings of more than 300 attendees. An accomplished chef who has spent 17 years sharpening his culinary skills at high-profile restaurants throughout the country, Berlin joins Blantyre from Tuthill House at the Mill in Gardiner, NY where he was Executive Chef and General Manager. Previously, Berlin consulted for Acme Hospitality in Santa Barbara, CA where he developed a Mediterranean fine-dining restaurant concept from the ground up.
Berlin served at Gordon Ramsay Holdings where he worked in leadership positions in Las Vegas, West Hollywood and New York. Berlin also spent two years at Le Bernardin in New York, where he served as Poissioner, during which time Le Bernardin received three Michelin stars and retained four stars from The New York Times. Berlin’s education began at New York’s French Culinary Institute.
“We are delighted that Natalie Ward will help lead the transformation of Blantyre and usher in the next chapter of this property’s remarkable and storied history,” said Daniel Hostettler, President and Managing Director of Ocean House Management, LLC. “In addition, Chef Berlin will help create and elevate memorable culinary experiences at Blantyre. He is a masterful chef and talented culinary visionary. As gourmands have come to expect of Relais & Châteaux, Blantyre will be the ultimate destination for food connoisseurs with distinct dining and educational programming.”
