Black Tap Craft Burgers & Beer, the renowned burger establishment founded by husband and wife duo, Chris Barish and Julie Mulligan, is thrilled to announce the grand opening of its newest location in Miami on the fourth floor of Brickell City Centre. Opening on Monday, August 5, Miami residents and visitors can indulge in the flavorful world of Black Tap’s craft burgers, delectable wings, fresh salads, iconic CrazyShake® milkshakes, ice-cold craft beer, and inventive cocktails.
Black Tap Miami spans 6,000 square feet of indoor and outdoor seating to serve a combined 200 diners. The main dining room features Black Tap’s signature boombox booth, a 20-seat bar, and a private dining room for groups up to 16. Additionally, Black Tap has commissioned New York street artist Fumero to design two custom murals unique to the Miami restaurant. Black Tap’s expansive, covered patio seating accommodates 72 guests for outdoor dining. Not-to-be-missed is Black Tap’s shake bar takeout window, where diners can sample an Instagram-famous CrazyShake® milkshake or to pick up an order to-go.
“We look forward to bringing Black Tap to Miami, a city we love and have been hoping to bring Black Tap to for quite some time,” says Julie Mulligan, Founder and Partner at Black Tap Craft Burgers & Beer. “We can’t wait to open our doors in Brickell and for locals and visitors to enjoy our unique take on a classic burger joint with Miami-inspired surprises in store.”
Black Tap’s signature craft burgers, celebrated for their juicy taste, have earned accolades from publications such as Time Out and Zagat, and have taken home the best burger award multiple times at the New York City Wine & Food Festival’s signature Burger Bash event. The culinary team at Black Tap has mastered the art of burger making, employing a unique cooking technique on a griddle (not a grill), layering on two slices of cheese, and serving them atop a perfect potato roll with lettuce, tomato, and a pickle on the side. Signatures include The Champ, a half-pound wagyu burger with house buttermilk-dill, blue cheese, and arugula; and The Texan Burger featuring bacon, aged cheddar, crispy onion rings, and sweet baby ray’s BBQ. Black Tap is also featuring a new Frita Cubana Burger with sofrito butter and shoestring crispy frites; and a Black Bean Burger with salsa verde, charred corn, and pickled onions on Dave’s Killer bread.
The menu will also feature an array of shareable items, such as Korean BBQ Wings; Ever Haze IPA Shrimp; and Crispy Brussels Sprouts. Additional entree highlights include the BT Hot Chicken Sandwich with hot chili oil, pickle chips, and house buttermilk-dill, and delicious, new craft salads like the Black Bean Burger Salad with quinoa, salsa verde, charred corn, pickled onions, and mojito dressing; It’s Not So Jennifer, a play on Jennifer Aniston’s viral salad with kale, quinoa, vegan feta, cucumbers, onion, salt & pepper pistachios, lemon zest, and red wine vinaigrette; Little Italy Chopped with salami, banana peppers, cherry tomatoes, parmesan, and banana pepper vinaigrette; and a Chopped Burger Salad with a smoked salt & black pepper rubbed prime burger, bacon, classic toppings, and black pepper parmesan dressing. Guests can enjoy tasty vegetable and specialty sides such as the Street Corn Nachos with queso bravo, charred corn, and cotija cheese.
True to its name, Black Tap is an homage to the black tap handles found in craft beer bars and craft beer is at the very essence of the beverage program. From classics to local brews, and rotating seasonal selections, Black Tap offers a diverse and satisfying range for beer enthusiasts and features selections from local breweries, Biscayne Bay Brewery, Tripping Animals and Wynwood Brewery. The menu also includes craft cocktails with playful twists on classics, and wines by the glass, providing a complete and immersive culinary experience. Drink highlights include the Beach Cowboy with rye, hazelnut orgeat, pineapple, lemon, and angostura; Mango Mule with vodka, mango, ginger and soda; and Glamour & Vice served with tequila, passionfruit, and vanilla. Diners can also look forward to frozen cocktails such as the tropical Grand Funk Colada with rum, banana, coconut, and pineapple; or Big Willie Style, a Café Cubano with a cinnamon kick with reposado tequila, coffee, chocolate cinnamon, and turbinado.
At the heart of Black Tap’s experience are the Instagram-worthy CrazyShake® milkshakes that have become synonymous with the restaurant. These whimsical creations, adorned with an assortment of sweets, are veritable works of art, such as The CakeShake® made with cake batter; Strawberry Shortcake served with a strawberry shortcake ice cream bar; The Cinnamon Bun shake topped with a cinnamon roll; and a Brooklyn Blackout chocolate shake. To celebrate the Miami opening, Black Tap has also collaborated with local baker Derek Kaplan of beloved Fireman Derek’s Bake Shop to create a limited-edition Key Lime Pie CrazyShake®–a sweet tribute to Miami’s iconic dessert.
Launching for the very first time in Black Tap’s history are Crazy Sundaes, making their debut in Miami shortly after opening. Available for carry out through Black Tap’s takeaway window will be over-the-top sweet, soft serve creations bound to become an Instagram-worthy and dessert-lovers dream. The new Crazy Shake Sundaes will include a Strawberry Donut Sundae served with a glazed donut, strawberries, strawberry compote, strawberry drizzle, and topped with cake crumbs; and a Mexican Hot Fudge Sundae served with a cinnamon sugar cookie, dulce, churros, and cinnamon toast crunch.
