3 Teams Take on Challenge at Taste of DC on Sunday, Oct. 13 at 2:00 p.m.
WHAT: BGR The Burger Joint will host its first-ever burger eating competition at this year’s Taste of DC on Sunday, October 13 at 2:00 p.m. Three teams of four brave people will face off against each other on the culinary stage as they try to down BGR’s massive masterpiece, featuring a 9 pound burger patty made from a blend of prime, dry-aged beef cooked over an open flame and piled high with cheese, two heads of lettuce, eight tomatoes, three red onions, four whole pickles and BGR’s famous mojo sauce. This beast of a burger weighs in at 15.4 pounds in total after it’s all topped.
The winning team will earn not only bragging rights but also a donation made in their name to breast cancer research, a five night trip for four to Mexico and BGR The Burger Joint gift cards. Teams will have nine minutes to finish the burger – the team that finishes first or has eaten the most will be crowned the winner.
BGR will also be offering menu items at Taste of DC on October 12 -13, including beef burger sliders, hot dogs, sweet potato fires, French fries and Wellington Burger sliders topped with caramelized onions, roasted mushrooms, black truffles and blue cheese crumbles.
