Beck’s Taproom Grill Opens with Area’s Exclusive Taproom Wall
Waterloo IA – September 15, 2015 – Beer lovers’ tastes will be treated by the latest in technology as Cedar Valley restaurateur Darin Beck transforms one of his namesake establishments. Beck’s Taproom Grill — formerly Beck’s Sports Brewery, 3295 University Ave.— will become one of two Iowa restaurants to literally have suds coming out of a wall on Thursday, September 17th.
New iPour technology on Beck’s Taproom Wall will allow patrons to serve themselves and sample 20 local and regional craft beers by the ounce while using an electronic ID wristband. The new bar will also have an extensive array of beers available — both traditional and craft perfect for watching football on Beck’s multiple big screens, while playing pool or darts.
“We’re excited for the Cedar Valley to be among the first two markets in Iowa to enjoy the new interactive craft beer,” Beck said. “Craft beer keeps getting more flavorful and as Beck’s celebrates its 15th year in business, we’re proud to continue the tradition of showcasing new hop flavors and some of the popular trends emerging.”
The extensive beer selection includes a variety of ales, IPA’s, stouts and lagers from several local, regional and national breweries including Iowa favorites like the Millstream Extreme Series and Back Road Stout from Amana, the Ruthie-Exile from Des Moines or the Equatorial from Cedar Falls.
“Our culinary team has been hard at work preparing the new menu for Beck’s Taproom Grill as well,” Beck added. “We have kept old favorites, including pizza, wings and Beck’s award-winning burgers, and added some exciting new dishes that will pair well with our craft beer selections.”
The lunch and dinner menu now showcases several new appetizers including the Fried Mac ‘N Cheese – Beck’s homemade Mac ‘N Cheese rolled up, breaded and fried and the Pizza-Dilla. A new sandwich sure to make bacon lovers crazy is the new Millionaire’s BLT featuring a ¼ pound of slow roasted sweet and spicy extra thick bacon. You’ll have to see this one!
Other new menu items include the Margarita Chicken Sandwich, OMG Dog, Pulled Pork Beer Cheese Sandwich, Reuben Burger, Bone-in Pork Chop and the Greek Grilled Salmon just to name a few. The new menu items, new brews and cocktails, lunch and dinner specialties as well as Happy Hour specials
In addition, the lower level has been renamed Beck’s Down Under and will be available for country line dancing on Thursday nights at 9 p.m. and for private party rentals. “We are working hard to get every detail in place,” Beck said. “We’re excited for everyone to experience the new Beck’s.”
