Anna Woodman Interior Design selected for redesign of The Ravenous Pig

Anna Woodman Interior Design, South Florida’s premiere commercial interior design firm, has been commissioned to redesign one of Winter Park’s most popular eateries, The Ravenous Pig, by James Beard award-nominated owners and chefs Julie and James Petrakis of JP Restaurants.

The Ravenous Pig has become a staple of the Central Florida dining scene since opening in 2007 on Orange Avenue in downtown Orlando. The gastropub is known for serving new American favorites with a high-quality Southern twist. In the years since relocating to Fairbanks Avenue, an on-site brewery and outdoor Beer Garden have been added to The Ravenous Pig’s offerings. Now, Anna Woodman, who spearheaded the design of the original restaurant in 2007, has been selected to bring new life to the space with a redesign.

Inspired by the historic charm of Charleston, South Carolina, the new design promises an enhanced guest experience to compliment the restaurant’s exciting menu. The brand-new color palette features navy blue, merlot red and rich coppers with cream and gold accents, which provide warmth to the space and work with luxe upholsteries to deliver on the eclectic, Charleston-inspired vibe and elegant ambiance.

“The new design aims to combine classic elements of The Ravenous Pig that fans of the restaurant know and love, like the existing millwork throughout the space, but with new enhancements, and exciting and unexpected additions that will entice diners before they even order their meals,” said Woodman. “From the custom, artistic carpeting and wall coverings to feathered chandeliers and art with nods to the original concept, guests will feel completely immersed in a unique and upscale dining experience.”

Upon entering the lobby, guests will be greeted by an open view of the kitchen and an unexpected feature display of cutlery. As they venture into the main dining room, guests will find modern art with colorful characters alongside mementos that pay homage to the history of The Ravenous Pig, inviting guests to learn more about the now iconic restaurant’s origins in Central Florida.

Other areas of the restaurant will also see improvements with the redesign. Most notably, the bar will feature an eye-catching, newly released Cambria quartz countertop with brass alloy veining throughout the surface alongside a deep navy millwork package. The outdoor Beer Garden will maintain its relaxed ambiance and design, but the space gains two new, whimsically designed bathrooms to improve the experience of all guests, from dining room patrons to Beer Garden visitors.

The redesign is set to begin this summer and is expected to be completed by early fall 2023.

The Ravenous Pig is located at 565 West Fairbanks Ave in Winter Park. The 5,600 square foot restaurant seats 118 people in both the main dining room and bar, with additional seating on the outside patio and picnic-style tables in the Beer Garden for a casual, outdoor experience with a bar-style food menu. There is also an indoor, private dining space that seats up to 24 guests.

Woodman’s previous work with JP Restaurants includes the original location of The Ravenous Pig on Orange Avenue in 2007, Cask & Larder Orlando in 2015, Cask & Larder Orlando International Airport in 2016 and The Polite Pig at Disney Springs in 2016.
