ANGEL CITY BREWERY CELEBRATES THE 3RD ANNUAL AVOCADO FESTIVAL AUGUST 9TH WITH THE RETURN OF AVOCADO ALE, FOOD TRUCKS, MUSIC AND MORELos Angeles, CA (July 30, 2015) — Green, gold and glorious – all hail the avocado! Often mistaken for a humble fruit, the great and noble avocado gives life to salads, sauces, tacos and tapas. But the creation most craved and called for? Angel City Brewery’s Avocado Ale! And once again it will celebrated in style at Angel City Brewery’s 3rd Annual Avocado Festival – August 9, 12-8 pm.
Angel City Brewery’s Avocado Festival came to life in 2013 and now is a green-themed go-to event. Festivities and frivolity prevail throughout the Public House and include games, music, food, art and more. The beer, brewed with avocados and guacamole-inspired ingredients like fresh cilantro, crushed red pepper and lime, is a refreshing ale with a smooth finish. Kegs of Avocado Ale will be tapped at the start of the event, and will be available exclusively at the Angel City Public House.
“Avocado Ale and Avocado Fest have come to be a summer staple for us,” said Angel City’s Melissa Corbin. “Avocado is the state fruit and a California commodity – and frankly one of our favorite foods. Using it as the base of a beer recipe seemed like a natural idea. The resulting ale is delicious and we have a great time both making it and celebrating it.”
Beyond the beer, Angel City has a full lineup of events for the day, including:
- Avocado Ale food pairings by The Surfer Taco, Brewwings, Si Paletas & The Green Truck
- Brewer-led tours with a focus on the Avocado Ale brewing process
- Live chalk art
- Specialty flight bars
- Avocado Bazaar presented by Raven Gypsies
- Avocado Amusements, including avocado corn hole and an avocado hunt
- Avocado photo booth

The 21+ event, which runs from 12-8pm, will benefit Food Forward, a local non-profit whose mission is to rescue fresh, local produce that would otherwise go to waste, and provide it to people in need, while inspiring others to do the same. $1 from every pint of Avocado Ale sold at the event between 12-8pm will be tallied up by our handy cash register and donated to Food Forward.
Angel City Brewery brews beer for the greater LA area at their Downtown based brewery in the Arts District. The brewery features a 19-tap bar and serves an ever-changing roster of newly inspired beer and classic fan favorites, including Angel City IPA, Angel City Pilsner and Angel City West Coast Wheat. The bar is open seven days a week with a full calendar of events ranging from trivia nights to art shows, live music and festivals. Private event space is also available. The Public House is open Monday-Wednesday, 4:00pm – 10:00pm, Thursday and Friday 4:00pm – 12am, Saturday 12:00pm – 12:00am, and Sunday 12:00pm – 10:00pm.
