This Saturday August 1st, Scarpetta – the modern Italian restaurant in NoMad known for its spaghetti tomato basil, will reopen with its first-ever outdoor dining concept: Scarpetta’s Outdoor Garden Café, presented by Whispering Angel.
Fried chicken with rosemary & fennel pollen
Open seven days a week, the garden café presented by Whispering Angel will be located on 29th street from Madison Avenue, which will be transformed into a verdant space with design touches such as a floral archway, orange trees, draping ivy, plant dividers and bistro lights. It will include 70 outdoor seats that will be safely distanced from one another.
Mediterrenean inspired style of dining will be brought to NYC with Scarpetta’s new Aperitivo series nightly from 4PM – 6PM, featuring a Cicchetti menu, signature cocktails and wines by the glass – including a 6 pack of individual sized 375ML bottles of Whispering Angel created exclusively for the Scarpetta Garden. During Aperitivo hour, guests can enjoy their first purchased drink paired with chef selected Cicchetti bites, warm olives, almonds and rosemary chips. Guests will also be able to order from the full Cicchetti menu which will feature a variety of Pizzettas, Beef Tartare Crostini with preserved lemons and capers, Mozzarella in Carozza, and Grilled Octopus with salsa macha. Drink highlights include a Sgroppino ($14) – a refreshing Mediterranean cocktail with a scoop of vodka infused lemon sorbet in a prosecco floater served in an lemon, as well as Frosé ($18) made with Whispering Angel, Sicilian blood orange liqueur, lemon, raspberry puree and honey.

Additional highlights will include:
- A La Carte Dinner Menu: Offered nightly beginning at 4PM, the menu will feature Scarpetta’s signature pastas including the Spaghetti Tomato Basil, Short Rib Bone Marrow Agnolotti and Lobster Tagliolini, fresh seasonal vegetable plates and a variety of seafood options such as its classic Crudo selection, and a new Porcini Crusted Crusted Halibut with bluefoot chanterelles and asparagus.
- Spaghetti for Social Good: For every plate of Spaghetti sold, $1 will go back to The Food Education Fund, an organization that works closely with culinary-focused public school students in NYC to provide opportunities to build their careers in the hospitality industry.
- Family Meal: Back by popular demand, the Fried Chicken Supper ($55) will make a temporary residence on the Scarpetta dinner menu. Inspired by Brand Culinary Director Sean McCarthy, the dish serves two people and includes fried chicken with rosemary, fennel pollen and a side of Calabrian chilli honey sauce. Sides include braised greens and crispy herbed potatoes with parmesan and anchovy.
