FOOD KARMA PROJECTS LAUNCHES 2025 EVENT SEASON WITH TAMALES PARTY!™ AT NEWLY REOPENED BAKER FALLS

Food Karma Projects, known for bringing New York events including Brisket King® NYC, Rib King NYC™, CiderFeast™, and more fan-favorite food festivals, announces Tamales Party!™, a friends-and-family style event on Saturday, February 22, at the newly reopened Baker Falls in Manhattan’s Lower East Side.

Tamales Party!™ is a limited-access event with food, drinks, and music from DJ Alex Corporan. It will feature incredible tamales made with Masienda’s heirloom corn masa harina by standout New York chefs and restaurants. Masa harina is used in tamales and tortillas, plus many more masa-based dishes like sopes, tetelas, and tlacoyos. Masienda has built its brand on equitable farming and ancestral techniques, partnering with 2,000 smallholder farmers across Mexico to bring nixtamalized corn flour to chefs and home cooks alike. Masienda’s MASA cookbook, cooking accessories, and condiments are regularly lauded by the New York Times, Food & Wine, and Bon Appétit.

Featured chefs and restaurants at Tamales Party!™ include Fernando Lopez of Factory Tamal and Fernando Cordova of Downstate, with more to be announced shortly.

“We’re thrilled to launch our 2025 event season at Baker Falls with Tamales Party!™,” says Food Karma Projects Founder Jimmy Carbone. “We have an exciting season this year with the return of much-loved events including Brisket King® NYC, Rib King NYC™, Pig Island NYC™, CiderFeast™, not to mention a few more surprises along the way.”
