Having worked in the hotel and restaurant industry for nearly 20 years, Smith brings extensive knowledge and experience to this position. His enthusiasm for hospitality is matched by his acumen for business growth and creating exceptional guest experiences – making him a significant asset in the ongoing success of Goodnight’s Prime Steak + Spirits.

As Executive General Manager, Smith will oversee day-to-day operations of the restaurant and integrate critical hospitality virtues into his daily routine. He will place a significant emphasis on forging meaningful connections with guests by sharing the restaurant’s culinary philosophy, as well as the heritage and history behind the restaurant’s namesake, Texas Ranger Charles Goodnight. A cowboy-entrepreneur, Goodnight founded the first Texas Panhandle ranch, JA Ranch and was instrumental to blazing cattle trails through and around the Panhandle.

A Napa Valley native, Smith has a deep-seated love for Northern California and its thriving hospitality industry – filled with exceptional chefs, artisans, winemakers, and local purveyors. His desire to enter into the hospitality space stems from his grandfather, who immigrated to the area from Greece and opened a camping resort just outside of Napa in 1968.

Before becoming a valued member of Goodnight’s Prime Steak + Spirits team, Smith occupied the roles of General Manager and Hotel Manager at the prestigious French-style boutique hotel, Hotel Les Mars, in Healdsburg. His career further encompasses the roles of Assistant Director of Food and Beverage and Operations Manager at Carneros Resort and Spa in Napa, as well as Food and Beverage Manager at Calistoga Ranch. He also held a five-year tenure as the Assistant Food and Beverage Manager at Auberge du Soleil in Rutherford.
