WORLD’S HIGHEST-GROSSING APPLEBEE’S EXPANDS
TO ACCOMMODATE EVEN MORE THAN THE 14,000 GUESTS
IT SERVES EACH WEEK
Restaurant Currently Has 550 Seats, More Than Any Other Applebee’s in the World, And Will Soon Seat Even More Guests!

Over fourteen thousand people from all over the world come to Applebee’s on 42nd Street every week for a familiar, neighborhood experience in an unlikely place: NYC’s Times Square. Owned by Apple-Metro, Inc. (the New York Metro Area Applebee’s franchisee), the expert staff at Applebee’s  42nd Street will soon be able to serve even more guests, as a result of the expansion project the restaurant is currently undergoing.

Applebee’s 42nd St. is able to accommodate more diners than any other Applebee’s in the world, and will soon double the ground floor seating capacity.  The restaurant’s sales are presently in excess of $12 million per year, making it the highest volume unit in the entire worldwide Applebee’s system.

Applebee’s 42nd Street’s stats are even more impressive during the winter holiday season, as its weekly visitors soar to a whopping 20,000 guests per week, with weekly sales at around $410,000.  The restaurant’s regular staff of 161 employees jumps to 250 during the winter holidays.

Here are some more impressive stats from Applebee’s 42nd Street:

  • At one time an African Prince worked as a Broil Cook
  • The restaurant’s staff represents every continent and hail from diverse areas such as Bangladesh, Pakistan, India, Egypt, Israel, African Nations and South Africa
  • An Imam currently works in the restaurant
  • Two Cum Laude graduates currently work in the restaurant
  • At least 10 birthdays are celebrated at Applebee’s 42nd Street each day

Not only is the 42nd Street Applebee’s growing in size, Apple-Metro is growing in number of restaurants. In the fourth quarter of 2010, three new Applebee’s restaurants are slated to open at the following locations: the Sky View Center in Flushing, Queens (TBD – November/December); on Jamaica Boulevard in Jamaica, Queens (TBD – November/December); and in Yonkers on Executive Blvd (TBD – September).
